When West Haddon Bowls Club's long-serving greenkeeper retired after four decades at 92 years old, three volunteers stepped forward to take on the challenge. For more than 120 years, West Haddon Bowls Club has been at the heart of its local community, providing a welcoming place for bowlers of all abilities. Today, with around 30 playing members, the club continues to thrive thanks to the dedication of its volunteers—particularly those responsible for maintaining the bowling green.

Perfect bowling greens don't happen by accident. They are the result of careful planning, expert maintenance and countless hours of dedication behind the scenes. At Harperbury Bowls Club, that responsibility lies with Green Team Lead Sue Allen, one of the relatively few women leading greenkeeping operations in the bowls industry.
